Business Manager & Development Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, including bookkeeping, organizational, and IT functions.

REPORTS TO:  Executive Director

CLASSIFICATION:  Full Time

COMPENSATION:  Salary and benefit package dependent upon experience. Position has room for growth.

START DATE:  August 1, 2023 (or upon filling of position)

The Great Bend Center for Music is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that explores the many ways that music can be used as a community development tool. More at greatbendmusic.org. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Manager/Development Coordinator will play a key role in the growth and success of our start-up non-profit organization that focuses on using music as a tool for community development. As the organization continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, including bookkeeping, organizational, and IT functions.

Development coordinator duties will include preparing reports, engaging with donors, tracking contributions, preparing and managing mailings, assisting with event planning, supporting volunteers, ensuring timely acknowledgment of contributions, tracking revenue and expenditures, drafting outreach strategies,and  assisting with social media activities and updates. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the organization’s finances, including budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement organizational systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including IT support, accounting firms, and legal counsel.
  • Oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and data management systems.
  • Coordinate and manage the organization’s fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor management, and fundraising events.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, insurance coverage, and labor laws.
  • Collaborate with the executive director and program staff to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the organization.
  • Manage the organization’s human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
  • Experience with IT systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, and data management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with fundraising and donor management preferred.
  • Passion for music and community development.
